After KGF 2, Sanjay Dutt is back as a villain for Thapalathy Vijay’s next

Sanjay Dutt wowed the audience with his fierce look and amazing performance in Yash starrer KGF 2. Fans were more outraged by his role in the action film than by Rocky aka Yash. Now the actor is all set to turn villain once again for another south film. Sanjay Dutt has collaborated with Lokesh Kanaraj for his upcoming film with Thalapathy Vijay. Tamil production house Seven Screen Studios has announced that they have roped in Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt for Thalapathy 67. The makers have released a poster of the actor to reveal the happy news. Sharing the news on social media, the banner is credited to welcome Sanjay Dutt to Tamil cinema. The highly anticipated film is helmed by Thalapathy Vijay and marks the 67th film of his career. Sanjay will play the role of an antagonist in the tentatively titled Thalapathy 67 directed by Lokesh Kanagraj. This will be the debut of Sanjay Dutt in Tamil cinema, earlier he played a villain in the Kannada film KGF 2. After the huge success of the action drama, Sanjay will once again play the negative character for a regional film. Bollywood’s Khalyanak will now take over southern films as well. Sanjay Dutt shared his thoughts on joining the film, saying that when he heard the one-liners of Thalapathy 67, he knew right then and there that he had to be a part of this film and was excited to begin this journey. Thalapathy 67 is part of Lokesh Cinematic Universe. Directed by Lokesh Kanaraj, it is co-produced by SS Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy. Trisha Krishnan, Gautham Menon and Miskin will also play the lead in the film, which is scheduled to release by the end of 2023.

On the work front, Sanjay Dutt was last seen in Shamshera opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Next he has Baap with Mithun Chakraborty, Jackie Shroff and Sunny Deol. It is a crime drama that is due for release this year. He recently hinted at a collaboration with Arshad Warsi, the Munna bhai pair will be back soon, but the film remains untitled. He will also share the screen with Raveena Tandon in Bijoy Gandhi’s Ghudchadi.
