A source close to the development suggests that Malhotra is in talks to play the lead in the action drama sequel. Shabina Khan has been trying to develop Rowdy Rathore 2 for some time, but was waiting for all the factors to fall into place. Now a source has informed Pinkvilla that Shabina Khan is in talks with Sidharth Malhotra to play the cop in Rowdy Rathore 2.
According to reports, Siddharth Malhotra has shown interest in the project but is wondering whether to play a cop, apart from Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. The actor will be seen playing a police officer in the web series Indian Police opposite Shilpa Shetty. Well, things are not confirmed yet and the makers are considering to release the film soon, probably in the next 2 months.
Rowdy Rathore 2 will be produced by Shabina Khan in association with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who also bankrolled the first installment. The cast is yet to be confirmed and the makers are in talks with a top director who delivered a blockbuster last year. If these reports are accepted, Siddharth Malhotra will headline Rowdy Rathore 2 and the film will go on floors by the end of May.
