Despite the hype and hype of it being a propaganda film, Kerala Story set the box office on fire. As we’ve seen, controversial movies make money. Courts quashed PILs to ban the film, saying it was not against Islam but against terrorism. Of course, the trailer of The Kerala Story was changed after the makers hinted that they had doubts about the figure of 32,000 missing girls. Ada Sharma, Vipul Amrutlal Shah and Sudipto Sen said the film should be seen as an eye opener to radicalization and not as hatred against a community.
THE KERALA STORY IS A HIT AT THE BOX OFFICE
The film was made on a budget of Rs 20 crore. The film is said to be technically sound. The cinematography is particularly captivating. It made over 11 crore rupees on Saturday. The performances were full, especially in the evening. Young women flock to see the film. Given that the content is too violent, people do not bring small children, but couples also watch the film. Madhya Pradesh has already made the film tax-free.

Hollywood film Guardians of the Galaxy earned Rs 8.50 crore on Saturday. Kerala’s story fared much better with a 39 percent rise since Friday. The Sunday collection is said to be huge. It may cross the Rs 15 crore mark as the makers have booked additional theaters in smaller cities of India.

The history of Kerala goes the way of the Kashmiri records. Experts believe that the more people oppose the film, the more they will be curious to see the film.
