Absa Bank Ghana has cemented a partnership with Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) to support business enterprises in Ghana with digital skills training and insights.

This objective is to unlock new opportunities by co-creating and creating the next generation of innovative entrepreneurs in Ghana and on the continent.

The partnership will also open avenues for MEST and Absa to jointly empower start-ups to provide solutions to intractable business challenges in the country.

The world is a different place compared to a few years ago. The scourge of the pandemic, its aftermath and resurgence means that things are moving at a faster pace than can usually be predicted.

Any business operating in these times can appreciate the challenges – supply chain issues, human resources, competition, a dynamic business environment and regulation.

The Absa-MEST partnership will therefore prove beneficial to businesses trying to make the best of the current situation and prosper.

At a preliminary session last week dubbed the “Absa-MEST Connects Series”, the two organizations urged businesses and entrepreneurs to embrace technology and digitization for sustainable growth.

The Director of Business Banking at Absa Bank Ghana, Grace Anim-Yeboa said: “This partnership is significant and important for a number of reasons including providing employment opportunities to the youth in start-ups, providing investment to finance initiatives, economic empowerment of young enterprises and manufacturing next-generation solutions for the digital ecosystem. We create a real platform for success and growth and Absa is delighted to once again be leading the way.”

On MEST’s part, Program Director Femi Adewumi also expressed excitement and deep gratitude for the partnership as “It is in line with MEST’s strategic objective to equip the continent’s most promising entrepreneurs with the skills needed to launch and scale globally successful companies . We look forward to impacting the many businesses that will benefit from this partnership.”
