‘A passionate man who loved cinema’: Film industry, fans pay tribute to LM Kaushik

Many in the Tamil film industry and fans have expressed their condolences following the death of Kaushik ML, who passed away on Monday, August 15 at the age of 35. Popular for his film reviews and interviews with people from the Tamil film industry, Kaushik reportedly died of a cardiac arrest in his sleep on Monday afternoon at his home in Chennai.

“You will be in our hearts forever,” tweeted Gallatta Media, for which Kaushik works as a YouTube video jockey alongside his career as a film tracker. Several Kollywood celebrities also posted in memory of the popular tracker. Director Venkat Prabhu tweeted saying, “Oh my! I can not believe! I spoke to him a few days ago! Life is really unpredictable! Not fair! Deepest condolences to Kaushik’s family and friends! Gone too soon my friend. #RIPCaushikLM”.

Actor Keerthy Suresh said through his Twitter account, “I was speechless when I heard this news. This is just amazing!! My heart goes out to his family and friends. Deepest condolences! I can’t believe you’re not Kaushik anymore! #RIPCaushikLM”. Music director Iman posted that he was “deeply distressed to hear the news about brother @LMKMovieManiac.” He also called Kaushik a “passionate person who loved cinema”.

Riaz Ahmed, Rajinikanth’s public relations officer said, “I can’t understand this as I met him a day ago…I’m speechless!!!” Other well-known trackers like Sridhar Pillai and Ramesh Bala in the industry too expressed their condolences.

Offering his condolences, actor Dhanush tweeted, “This is heartbreaking!! rest in peace @LMKMovieManiac brother. Gone too soon. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.”

Actor Kalyani Priyadarshan tweeted, “Shocked to hear about the death of @LMKMovieManiac !! Just… unable to process it… how young and healthy he looked. Always kind to me with your words…I hope his soul rests in peace.”

“Deeply distressed to hear the news of Bro @LMKMovieManiac sudden death. Such a warm and friendly person. Life is sometimes unfair. Condolences to his near and dear ones,” actor Harish Kalyan tweeted.

“Life is so unpredictable!!! Very shocking indeed. Heartfelt condolences to his family, near and dear ones. Om Shanti,” tweeted producer Raghunathan P.S.

Kaushik was supposed to attend the press conference of the upcoming Tamil film Jiiv 2 starring Rohini and Karunakaran. When he did not arrive at the event, his friends called him and got no answer. “He fell asleep around 2 p.m. and didn’t wake up,” a colleague told TNM.
