Aamir Khan won’t release Laal Singh Chaddha on OTT now; does the superstar still have hopes with the box office numbers?

Looks like Aamir Khan is not ready to accept the fact that one of the most ambitious films Laal Singh Chaddha is a flop. While earlier reports claimed that the superstar is in a state of shock after the failure of the film. And now, latest reports suggest that Aamir is still adamant not to release the film on OTT for up to six months. Reports in the Indian Express claim that Aamir is ready to wait at least six months and wants the audience to come to the theaters and watch the film. The film has reportedly only managed to earn Rs 50 crore so far and is considered to be Aamir Khan’s biggest disaster after Mela. In his recent conversation, where Aamir was asked about releasing the film on OTT, he said, “ OTT is not a challenge for cinema, but we are making it a challenge. What we are saying is that our films are playing in theaters, but you don’t have to come. Because in a few weeks you can see it at home. How do you expect people to come to the theatres?”. The superstar was adamant that if audiences don’t watch the film in theatres, they will have to wait at least 6 months. Although the stakeholders are very happy with his decision as usually the time difference is 42 and Kerala film cameras have reportedly agreed to these days before releasing a film on OTT. We wonder if the superstar still has hopes for the box office numbers as he plans to release the film in China as well. Earlier it was understood that Netflix will use the rights of the film and Aamir wanted to give them the rights for 150 crores and they agreed to 90 crores. After seeing the response, they reportedly gave up and Aamir Khan’s film currently has no OTT takers.
