On April 23, 2022, digital creator, Diksha Singhi had tied the nuptial knot with the love of her life, Nisheet Prakash. Now, in an exclusive interview with Bollywoodshaadis.com, Diksha Singhi opened up about how her love story with Nisheet and explained how her life has changed since her marriage. Talking about the same, she shared that while her daily life hasn’t changed that much, it just has become more interesting. In her words:

“It’s a modern meet-cute. Honestly, when Nisheet and I first met, Nisheet mentioned how we couldn’t date because I was taller than him. We actually continued being friends for over 6 months and by then, we had just gotten so comfortable in oversharing and being around each other, that nothing else seemed to matter. Even though we weren’t dating, we really loved each other. And then I just asked him out. I was like, look, either you date me, or I date other people. I was pretty monstrous that way but he scummed. Looking back, I made the right decision. While my daily life hasn’t seemed to change at all, getting married to Nisheet has only made the little things we do during the day more fun. I don’t need to make my morning coffee, he does. There is something tremendously beautiful about waking up next to somebody you love, it just starts your day on the right note and it sets the tone of your day.”

She wished to experiment with her looks but also wanted to be within the budget. Diksha mentioned that she wanted something blingy and yet an Indian touch for her sangeet look. She said:

“I did have a fashion board handy. I knew the kind of work I wanted to explore, the colours, and most importantly the budget. For eg: I knew I didn’t want a gown for my Sangeet. I wanted something that had a dancing charm to it; something that’s blingy yet has an Indian Silhouette.”

Diksha revealed that she wanted to explore different look patterns for various functions. For mehendi, Diksha had opted for a moss green-coloured lehenga choli heavily embellished and had paired it with a cape-like dupatta. On the other hand, for her haldi, she had chosen two outfits, for the first one, she had worn a pastel blue-coloured lehenga while for the second she had worn a pristine white-coloured ethnic ensemble. In other pre-wedding functions, Diksha had stunned in a pink boho-chic outfit and a lavender blingy dress.

For the wedding, Diksha had opted for a maroon-coloured sequinned lehenga choli. She had paired it with kundan jewellery including pearl and diamond beaded neckpiece, matching earrings, sheesh patti, and had kept her look simple with smokey eyes and nude lips. Talking about how she put together her wedding lookbook, the newly wedded bride gave a few pro tips for all the to-be brides out there. In her words:

“I wanted to explore different kinds of work for different functions, if I went for glass bead in one, I wanted for woven silk in another. Here is a pro tip: if you really really like something when you are wedding shopping, take it. Don’t wait to check out 15 different store, it will only have you confused. And it’s also okay to experiment, I wore a sky blue colour lehenga for one of my wedding functions and it surely was a tricky one but with the right make up and accessories, it looked amazing!”

Further going into the interview, the influencer revealed a few details about her wedding day with Nisheet. She shared that they both had planned their entire wedding together, from hotel to menu to budgeting. Everything they planned, they did it together. She even added small fun details about how they had forgotten to exchange their rings at their sangeet/engagement ceremony. She said:

“Nisheet and I planned our entire wedding. Right from the hotel, the menu, the budgeting, the thank you notes, the decor; everything. Our Sangeet/Engagement night was crazy. We got so engrossed in dancing that we forgot to exchange the rings, which we then exchanged before our haldi.”

“However, on our wedding day, the empaneled decor vendor of the hotel didn’t do half the work, to top it off, out of nowhere, there was a storm followed by rain on the day of our wedding, and there was also electricity failure for a brief amount of time. You know we actually took our pheras when it had started to drizzle. My friends used their Duppatta to create a canopy for Nisheet and I. And as dramatic as it may sound, the moment Nisheet put sindoor, the rain got heavier.”

Diksha Singhi’s response to trolls

diksha

Disha Singhi is a plus-size beauty content creator, and it takes a lot of courage to accept one’s figure, structure, shape, colour and everything. However, this influencer has always been vocal about how she looks. Talking about her journey so far, Diksha said:

“Creating content around body positivity for me is working on something that really bothered all my childhood. You know fat guys are made to believe they will not find love; I was told them when I guess I was 10 years old, and it made me super under confident with boys all my life. But now I know better, there is #LoveBeyondSize and when boys and girls see that on Instagram, they see hope, they know their worth isnt tied to their weight and that there is somebody out there who would love them for who they are!”
