The Princess of Wales is currently in Boston for the Earthshot Prize’s annual awards ceremony – so it makes sense that the royal has been making eco-conscious wardrobe choices while Stateside. So far, Kate has reworn a navy Alexander McQueen suit, as well as bringing back out her vintage Chanel bouclé blazer from 1995 and a burgundy top-handle bag also from the French fashion house.
For a visit to the city’s coastline on Thursday, the Princess opted for a matching orange polo-neck jumper and knitted midi skirt from Gabriela Hearst, a designer who is known for her sustainable practices – including the use of deadstock and recycled materials. To ward off the brisk weather, Kate wore a double-breasted coat from go-to designer Alexander McQueen (an investment piece that we’ll no doubt see again in the years to come), adding a pair of Gianvito Rossi boots (first worn last month) to finish.
It’s not the first time that Kate has worn Gabriela Hearst’s eponymous brand, which has become somewhat of a secret weapon for the royal of late. She wore the New York-based label’s Betti dress in camel for a visit to Scarborough last month, as well as sporting the brand’s Costa polo-neck jumper in burgundy for a Rugby League World Cup match just days later. Back in 2020, the royal wore Gabriela Hearst’s denim Marley dress for a documentary screening with Sir David Attenborough at Kensington Palace.
The royal is by no means Gabriela Hearst’s only high-profile supporter, with her sister-in-law, the Duchess of Sussex, also a fan. Meghan has been pictured with the brand’s Demi bag on several occasions, as well as wearing a monochrome jumpsuit by the designer while out for dinner in New York over the summer.
