The Challenge celebrities gush over TV’s first ‘non-binary host’ as Brihony Dawson makes debut on series
The stars of Channel 10’s new series The Challenge have gushed over the show’s non-binary host, Brihony Dawson.
During the premiere episode of the show on Monday a number of the cast – including MasterChef star Conor Curran – were quick to shower the host with compliments.
The blonde star made quite the impression as they introduced themselves to the gathered A-listers during the show’s introduction.

‘Buenas Noches amigos,’ Brihony said, arms outstretched. ‘Welcome to The Challenge Australia.’
Love Island’s Audrey Kanongara was quick to note, ‘Brihony is an amazing ball of energy’.
While The Bachelor’s Brittany Hockley added, ‘They look like they won’t take any sh*t’ before noting Brihony’s slick dress sense.
‘Brihony is Australia’s first non-binary host and to me that is incredible,’ Conor Curran added. ‘But every time I see them I will probably hear something I don’t want to hear,’

Brihony has spoken out about being non-binary and the importance of visibility, during an interview with The Daily Telegraph.
‘I really struggled not having anyone like me on TV or in movies or anywhere in the public eye when I was growing up.’
‘Although being a role model scares me a little as I am far from being perfect, it’s my goal to just be my authentic self and be a voice for those who have not fully found theirs yet,’ they added.

The Challenge was filmed in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and features endurance challenges done by celebrities.
The series, which first premiered in America in 1998, is a cross between Big Brother and Survivor.
The prize money up for grabs is $200,000.
