There might be tension brewing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! between Boy George and Charlene White, but it seems the singer could also be ‘gunning’ for Mike Tindall as the most prominent voices of the group establish themselves.

Last night’s episode of the ITV programme saw the celebrities come together in camp for the first time, before Olivia Attwood’s shock early exit from the show.

The VIPs (Very Isolated People) – Olivia, George, Chris Moyles and Scarlette Douglas – all showed up a day later than everyone else, having been marooned on an island for their first night.

Having seen the frustrations George had with designated chef Charlene when dinner was being cooked, body language expert Judi James analysed the Culture Club musician’s body positioning and choice of words as he lounged a significant distance away from the group after the meal, sharing her assessment with Metro.co.uk.

After sitting on his own for a short while, George was later joined by Chris, confiding in the radio DJ about his distaste for the mushrooms, which he claimed ‘weren’t cooked properly’.

‘I don’t think the mushrooms were cooked. Also it feels like there’s a hierarchy in the kitchen with Mike and Charlene and there’s this kind of patriarchy,’ George said at the time, before adding that the Loose Women presenter is ‘very sweet’.

‘It looks very much as though George already has more than just Charlene in his sights as he talks about Mike as well and over-dramatises by labelling when he refers to a “patriarchy”,’ Judi said.

‘This powerful labelling suggests he’s talking about Charlene as a bit of a mask or smoke-screen as he might really ultimately be gunning for Mike, who is a natural alpha presence.’

What’s more, George also used ‘two very powerful ways to make his feelings felt’, Judi said, as she perceived him to be acting in a ‘passive-aggressive’ manner by sitting away from the group.

‘Instead of speaking directly to the people he has a problem with he chooses to talk to Chris, which means spreading the problem rather than solving it quickly and easily,’ she explained.

Judi acknowledged that while George may have wanted to sit on his own to do ‘some form of meditation’, he is also ‘clearly annoyed’.

‘Any form of removal of either presence or dialogue in a group scenario as intense as this one will be having a huge impact on the rest of the group,’ she outlined.

‘Anyone sitting alone will be felt by them and we should expect to hear people asking if he’s ok quite frequently as this question is a sign of fear in a scenario like this.’

Judi also felt it was important to point out the significance of George’s body language when sitting opposite Chris, with the singer’s hands up ‘in a barrier’ while maintaining eye contact and ‘rubbing his thumbs together’.

‘He is adopting a pose of authority and even superiority here rather than using any signals to diminish his claims or laugh about them. It makes it look as though he is trying to “enlist” Chris by gaining his agreement,’ she claimed.

‘Chris is now in a difficult position. Does he tell the others? If he doesn’t and if George tells them himself he could look complicit.

‘And all over mushrooms being cooked badly (they are fine raw anyway)…although clearly this Mushroom-gate is really all about power struggles.’

I’m A Celebrity returns tonight at 9pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
