Celebrities and professional wrestling go together about as well as a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. But celebrities in professional wrestling factions is next level most of the time. Not only are they agreeing to a one or two time appearance, but they’re agreeing to possibly more and most importantly represent the brand in their professional and personal lives as well.

Have a celebrity appear on any big show certainly helps the bottom line, but having one be a significant part of a faction gives a different level of notoriety to the celeb, the company, and the faction as a whole.

10/10 The Insane Clown Posse

The Insane Clown Posse were a different kind of celebrity altogether. If you know them, then chances are you love them, and you’re a Juggalo. Otherwise, you don’t know who they are. Little did anyone realize that Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope did actually dabble in training how to wrestle.

The Insane Clown Posse were such mega fans that were actually part of not one but two stables, in WWE and WCW during The Monday Night Wars. In the WWE, ICP were part of The Oddities stable until they turned their backs on the fun-loving freaks. When they went to WCW, they eventually teamed up with Raven and Vampiro to form The Deadpool.

9/10 Anthony Ogogo

As an Olympic Middleweight boxer, he’d rack up the bronze in 2012 and overall have a 12 and 1 record. That’s an impressive feat, and Anthony Ogogo decided he’d try to conquer the wrestling industry next. He spent some time training under QT Marshall.

So, naturally when QT turned his back on The Nightmare Factory and formed his own stable, Ogogo was right by his side during their feud with Cody Rhodes. He’s actually one of, if not their very first developmental wrestler, having signed a contract with AEW. His highest profile match to date was looking up at the lights against Cody at Double Or Nothing 2021.

8/10 Quinton Rampage Jackson

As a former MMA fighter, Quinton Rampage Jackson made a respectable name for himself. He also tried his hand at being an actor, starring as B.A. Baracus in the big screen A-Team adaptation.

He dipped his toe in the sports entertainment waters when he arrived in TNA to save Kurt Angle from an Aces and Eights beat down. For his fealty, he was offered a spot in The Main Event Mafia.

7/10 Kyle Petty

During the 1990s, WCW tried their hand at all sorts of cross promotion. That meant the purple and gold colors of WCW would appear on a NASCAR race car.

When the New World Order took over, the black and white even snagged their own NASCAR. The guy behind the wheel was Kyle Petty. He might not have wrestled, but he repped the black and white 4-Life.

6/10 Dennis Rodman

There have been plenty of crossover basketball players who have entered the wrestling ring over the years. Kevin Nash, The Undertaker, and most recently Omos and Satnam Singh have left the hardwood for the wrestling ring. Dennis Rodman didn’t just make the transition from basketball player to professional wrestler while he was still and active ball player.

The Worm was also a member of the greatest basketball team of all time – The Chicago Bulls and suffering heavy fines for missing practices in the midst of their epic championship run. He’d miss practice to go hang out with Hollywood Hogan and the nWo.

5/10 Stephen Amell

The Green Arrow himself, Stephen Amell is a huge wrestling fan. Now the star of wrestling drama, Heels, Amell gets to have his cake and eat it too. He gets to live out his wrestling dreams without taking anywhere near the bumps he’d take actually wrestling.

But Amell has had a few big matches over the years, none as big as at the first ever All In, representing The Bullet Club against Christopher Daniels.

4/10 Mike Tyson

In what was one of the quintessential moments in WWE history, Mike Tyson and Stone Cold had a huge face off to start the build to WrestleMania 14. While that match didn’t happen, Tyson who was hired to be The Special Enforcer for the main event between Austin and Shawn Michaels.

During the build to the match, Tyson would actually be revealed to have joined DX. While the big reveal didn’t stick at the time, Mike would rejoin the crew when he came to Raw over a decade later to knock out Chris Jericho.

3/10 Steve McMichael

Shortly after making an appearance at WrestleMania 11, Steve McMichael chose to sign with WCW instead. He would spend his first few months for the promotion as a commentator on Nitro. He would eventually find himself in a tag team match along with fellow football hero, Kevin Green taking on Ric Flair and Arn Anderson.

During that match, Debra McMichael handed her husband a Halliburton full of cash and a Horsemen t-shirt. The former Chicago Bear took the offer and found himself on a winning dynasty once again.

2/10 Paige VanZant

In her real life profession as an MMA Fighter, 12 Gauge, Paige VanZant does actually represent America’s Top Team. It was just an extension of what she did outside the ring when she joined Dan Lambert in AEW as well.

She finally made her in-ring debut as part of the team alongside Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky to face down Sammy Guevara, Frankie Kazarian at Double Or Nothing. It will be a unique experience to watch how she progresses in her wrestling career.

1/10 Andy Kaufman

Andy Kaufman’s war with Jerry Lawler is the largest celebrity crossover appearance ever, even to this day. Kaufman had everyone fooled, and David Letterman was completely shaken by what happened on his show.

But what a lot of fans don’t always remember is how Kaufman came into Memphis. The Intergender Wrestling Champion had come to Memphis and Jimmy Hart was Andy’s manager, making him part of Hart’s First Family stable.
