Kansas Miss Amazing contestants are ready to compete in Emporia Saturday after a year of practice and interviews.
The local Miss Amazing Pageant celebrates building confidence through leadership in young girls and women with disabilities. Miss Amazing director Michelle Roberts says this event is personal to her because she lives with a disability and wants to serve as a role model for other women.
This year, there are 25 contestants with physical, emotional and intellectual disabilities. The first seven contestants will be selected to participate in August 2023 in the national Miss Amazing pageant.
The event will be held from 4 to 6 pm in the Emporia High School theater. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased online or at the event.
All money collected from the tickets will raise funds for the Miss Amazing program
