Hollywood News: HYBE Wanted To Brand ‘Borahae’
According to K-media reports, HYBE, formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment, wanted to trademark the phrase “Borahae,” which was coined by none other than one of BTS’s most popular members, Kim Taehyung. According to Soompi, a cosmetics brand company called LALALEES wanted to trademark the term “Borahae”, which has attracted a lot of attention. Following the same, HYBE took action and applied to register a trademark for Borahae.

HYBE’s Borahae trademark application is dismissed; The ARMY responded
Now, according to the latest report in Soompi, the application filed by HYBE aka Big Hit Entertainment for the Borahae trademark has been rejected by KIPO (Korea Intellectual Property Office). Yes, you read that right. The reason for the same was mentioned in a statement stating that it was invented by Kim Taehyung on November 13, 2016. And they did not accept it as it was against the principles of good faith. It was said that HYBE (the applicant) is not V and that Kim Taehyung is in an employee-employer relationship with the company. Therefore, they cannot apply for the right. And after learning about this update, ARMYs got excited as they want Taehyung to register the copyright and trademark in his name. Check out the reactions here:

Taehyung should be the one to apply the trademark, not hybe, because if the borah was claimed by hybe, other groups in hybe could only use with hybe’s permission. And if one day BTS leave the company, they no longer have a right over it, only hybe. Plus the profit they get from sponsors using-

What does Borahae mean?
Borahae means I purple you. It also translates to I’ll love you till the end of days as said by BTS V. The phrase is made by combining Bora and Saranghae. Bora means Purple, which is the last color of the rainbow, and Saranghae means I Love You, so it becomes Bora-hae, I Purple You.
