A shocking incident grabbed public attention when two Malayalam actresses Saniya Iyapan and Grace Anthony were touched inappropriately by some people in the crowd while coming out of HiLite mall in Kozhikode after the promotional event of their upcoming film Saturday Night. Videos of the horrific incident have gone viral on social media.
Sharing details of the incident on Instagram, actress Grace Anthony wrote: “Someone in the crowd grabbed me. I am loathe to mention where. Are the people around us that disappointed? I have been to many places for the promotion of a film, but I have not had such a horrible experience anywhere else.” She said that she could not react in this situation as she was stunned for a moment. She ended her statement by asking the culprits, asking them, “Are you already cured of your itch?”
Her fellow actress Saniya Iyapan also faced a similar experience at the mall where a man misbehaved with her as she made her way through a sea of crowd. She managed to slap the culprit who groped her. “The mall event was packed and security was struggling to deal with the crowd. As we were leaving, a guy was being rude to my colleague, but she didn’t have a chance to react. I went through the same thing, but I reacted as you saw in the video,” she said in her statement.

The two actresses have filed a police complaint and a special team headed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Feroke) AM Siddique is investigating the said incident. Deputy Commissioner of Police A. Srienivas told the media that they are reviewing the CCTV footage in connection with the case.
