Jewellery designer, fashion writer and photographer Umesh Jivnani left for his heavenly abode on Saturday morning in his Mumbai home due to cardiac arrest. He was 46.

Umesh was a regular at all the fashion events and he was a familiar face at the fashion weeks in India. His love for art and fashion made him a prominent name in the industry. Jivnani was also a columnist with Hindustan Times and used to cover fashion for the publication.

The whole of fashion fraternity is deeply saddened by the sudden demise of Umesh. His friend and photographer Vickky Idnaani took to social media to share a few pictures with him and wrote, ” We just had a long call after your London trip, but the dinner and hugs are pending. Thanks for touching my life in your own special way.”

Umesh was also designer Varun Bahl’s very close friend. Varun also took to social media to express his grief and shared a picture of Umesh with a caption, ” Rest in peace my dearest Umesh…until we meet again.”

Jivnani’s close friend and designer Deepak Bhadwar spoke to E Times and said, “Umesh was a multifaceted, fun man. The industry will not be the same without him. A talented jewellery designer, journalist and a designer, he wore many hats. Fond of a luxurious life, he had the best of artefacts, jewels and brooches. A friend’s friend…great company and a large hear for his loved ones. We will miss you.”

Umesh’s cremation service will be held at Santacruz Electric Crematorium on Monday, September 26 at 2.30PM. He is survived by his mother, a sister, an older brother and a niece.
