The collaborations between musical brothers duo Amaal and Armaan Malik have yielded many chartbusters, and among them is ‘Bol Do Na Zara’ which continues to be lauded as one of their finest creations. This heartfelt composition from the movie Azhar (2016), picturized on Emraan Hashmi and Nargis Fakhri continues to woo listeners. As the melody of ‘Bol Do Na Zara’ reaches its 7-year milestone, Armaan and Amaal reflect on the making of this timeless track.

MTV EMA winner, Armaan Malik opened up about the track and described about what it meant to him saying, “This song holds a special place in my heart, especially due to the collaboration with my brother Amaal. I still receive messages for this song. It’s overwhelming to witness the growing love and support from our listeners throughout the years. It has definitely become an integral part of every live performance.”
The song was penned by Rashmi Virag. Composer Amaal Malik too spoke about the melody, adding, “A big thank you to Rashmi Virag for being my partner in rhyme and writing the best words to my compositions all through the years. It’s fills my heart with gratitude that the audience loves this song through all this years. It gives me the strength and confidence to do better and make more music for my listeners.”
As for the film Azhar, the film was based on the life of former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin. While Emraan essayed the titular role, Nargis Fakhri played the role of Sangeeta, inspired by his second wife Sangeeta Bijlani, Prachi Desai as the cricketer’s first wife Naureen and Lara Dutta as lawyer Meera Verma. Directed by Tony D’Souza, the film released on May 13, 2016.
