5 celebrities who love visiting the beaches in Norfolk

After a Happy Valley star gushed about his recent trip to the Norfolk coast, we take a look at the other celebrities that love visiting our beaches.

1. James Norton 

Actor James Norton appeared on the most recent episode of The Graham Norton Show to promote the third series of Happy Valley, where he stars as Tommy Lee Royce.

Norton, who also starred in the hit 2022 Netflix film Rogue Agent, said he visited the Norfolk coast for a week over the new year and felt “exhilarated” after going for a swim in the sea every day.

2. Prince Louis

Not far from the Sandringham Estate and their countryside residence at Anmer Hall, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children love visiting the Norfolk coast.

Adorable images were taken by Kate, who is a keen amateur photographer, last April of her youngest son Louis playing cricket on Holkham Beach to mark his fourth birthday.

3. Kelly Brook 

Model, actress and TV presenter Kelly Brook loves coming to Norfolk on her holidays and she has posted snaps on social media of previous trips.

It appears her favourite place to visit is Wells-next-the-Sea and who can blame her with its award-winning chippies, quaint beach huts and golden sand.

4. Danny Boyle 

Award-winning director Danny Boyle is a big fan of the Norfolk and Suffolk coast, which was where he chose as the location for the hit 2019 romantic comedy film Yesterday.

This includes a huge beach concert scene in Gorleston, where actor Himesh Patel as Jack Malik played from the balcony of The Pier Hotel in front of lots of local extras and Boyle called the location “perfect”.

5. Graham Cole

Actor Graham Cole, who played PC Tony Stamp in The Bill for 25 years, revealed he had moved to Norfolk when starring in the Dick Whittington 2021 panto at Norwich Theatre Royal.

Revealing his favourite places to visit, he said: “We’ll get up in the morning and as we are National Trust members there is a huge choice and Norfolk has 300 miles of the best beaches.

“You can go down to Winterton or Horsey to see the seals, to Sea Palling, Wells-next-the-Sea, Sandringham or Sheringham with the steam trains is one of my favourite places.”
