Whether your favorite celebrity is known for flexing their acting chops in popular movies or television shows, has been all over the Billboard charts, or is an All-Star athlete, one thing remains the same: We love them. For many of us non-celebs, knowing that our favorite famous people like the same things we like makes them more relatable and, in most cases, makes us regular folks like them even more.

Although we’re all very aware that celebrities — regardless of their stature — are just like us all, when they step into a new venture, it sometimes makes us look at them as a bit more down-to-earth. Case in point? Celebrities who own their own food brands.

While celebrity-owned food and/or beverage brands aren’t anything new under the sun, as of late it seems that more and more are stepping into the industry. And in 2022, they were plentiful.

From athletes with snack brands to musicians who now own restaurants, here are 21 celebrities that launched some surprisingly good food brands this year.

If you didn’t know, rapper, actor, and businessman Master P has been dabbling in the food industry for some time now. While many may know him as a contributor to the success of the Rap Snacks phenom, the No Limit Records founder also has a growing list of food lines — including the ones that friend and former label signee Snoop recently released. Additionally, Soldier Snacks, Soldier Coffee House, Icon Rap Noodles, LA Great Rice, and LA Great Snowcones are all his ingenious products, too.

Joining the likes of the infamous Martha Stewart, funnyman Kevin Hart also made his way into the restaurant industry this year with the opening of his plant-based fast food restaurant, Hart House. Located in Los Angeles, the 100% plant-based option is said to deliver “can’t-believe-it flavor in every bite.”

Although you may know him for his starring role in Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things, Noah Schnapp is making an effort to have the world know him outside of that with the release of his own hazelnut spread. Touted as “an honest hazelnut cocoa spread that is better for you and better for the planet,” TBH — as it is aptly named — was released by the teenager late last year, but began to get notice this year.

You might not be able to identify DJ and producer Marshmello without his mask, but if you’re shopping at Best Buy anytime soon, you’ll definitely be able to identify his line of air fryers. Released in collaboration with cookware brand Crux, the new air fryers come equipped with a sleek and stylish look, TurboCrisp technology, and multiple air fryer kits that can be purchased separately.

Whether you know Jadakiss from being a member of the rap group The Lox in the ’90s or met him during his run as a solo artist beginning in the early 2000s, there’s one identifying factor that has remained the same: his infectious laugh. While he definitely goes down in history for one of the most infamous ad-libs of all time, this year the “We Gonna Make It” rapper got pretty serious about his newest venture: Kiss Cafe. Released in collaboration with his father and son, the new brand sees the legendary MC step into the coffee industry with plans to take it over.

Jadakiss wasn’t the only celeb who joined the coffee industry this year, though. Often referred to as “the nicest guy in Hollywood,” actor Tom Hanks announced this November that his own line of coffee — Hanx for Our Troops — would be available to ship before end of year. The best part? All profits from purchases are donated to support veterans.

Ten-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony took his talents off the court earlier this year as he put on his entrepreneur hat with the release of his first wine brand, VII(N) — The Seventh Estate. Created over a three-year timespan, the new line saw its first variety — a 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape named Oath of Fidelity — launch this November.

Crooner Justin Bieber may get his peaches out in Georgia, but thanks to a collaboration with Canadian donut chain Tim Hortons, fans were able to get his signature cold brew wherever a TH location happened to be. The French vanilla cold brew debuted on June 6.

After growing bored during 2020’s COVID-19 pandemic, country singer Luke Bryan began growing sweet corn. Fast-forward two years and that same corn has now grown him a potential thriving business. After partnering with Fendt and Merrit Pop Co., Bryant released two flavors of popcorn under his first brand, Boldly Grown Popcorn.

If you haven’t been up on the news, Nick Jonas entered the spirits industry in 2019 (along with the popcorn industry with his brothers in 2021) with the release of his Villa One Tequila brand. And while it is quite possibly one of the best tequilas on the market, he found a way to make it even better with the opening of his own string of rooftop bars serving a variety tequila. Aptly named Villa One Tequila Gardens, the star opened the first location in San Diego earlier this year.

Much like his younger brother, Nick, Joe Jonas also entered the boozy chat when he launched his own line of sangria with popular canned cocktail company Ohza. Available in both Fizzy Red and Fizzy White Sangria options, Joe — who also partnered with Tanqueray gin this year — surely made a lasting impression on cocktail aficionados with this one.

Fans of rapper, actor, and amateur wrestler Bad Bunny added an additional title to his resume this year and that was that of restauranteur. Partnering with Miami nightlife mogul David Grutman, the pair opened Gekkō — a Japanese steakhouse — earlier this year.

Former Love & Hip-Hop star and award-winning artist Cardi B entered the food and beverage industry last year through a very unexpected yet on-brand avenue: boozy whipped cream. Initially released in three delectable flavors, Whip Shots quickly grew in popularity, leading to a new limited-edition Peppermint flavor hitting shelves in November.
