As the Valentino show got later and later, it became apparent Paris was waiting for one person: Zendaya. Flanked by her longtime stylist, Law Roach, and Naomi Campbell, much air kissing was enjoyed before fashion’s new holy trinity made their way into the venue for Pierpaolo Piccioli’s “Unboxing” show.
Zendaya, the official poster girl for Valentino’s Pink PP pantone, threw the fashion pack a curveball as she took her front-row seat wearing a sheer crystallised bodysuit underneath a fancy V-embellished shorts suit. Frosted with a pair of chandelier earrings, with a bold side parting for added sass, Hollywood’s fashion-forward twenty-something set the tone for the collection to come.
For spring/summer 2023, fuchsia is out and sparkles are in. Logmania is back (the Vlogo face art was quite Spider-Man, no?) and “nude” is the operative word when it comes to tailoring palettes and the sheerness of partywear. It’s only a matter of time before we see Zendaya wearing one of those glittering caped dresses, but for now, she’s cemented her status as one of the world’s most buzzed-about brand ambassadors again. Bravo.
