Bollywood gave the audience two dynamic divas in Kajol and Rekha. Both have managed to carve their niche in the Hindi film industry and have become the most desirable women due to their captivating on-screen persona. The two actresses never got a chance to share screen space together, but when they did, they rocked the industry with their raunchy photo shoot in 1996.
After making her Bollywood debut with the 1992 film Bekhudi, Kajol became an overnight star with her 1993 thriller Baazigar opposite Shahrukh Khan. By then, Rekha was already a superstar. In 1996, Kajol and Rekha teamed up for a daring photo shoot for a popular entertainment magazine. And raised a few eyebrows.
In the photoshoot, Kajol and Rekha were seen striking a cozy pose for the magazine cover. They wore an off-the-shoulder sweater, but what left everyone shocked is that the two divas wore the same sweater in the picture. While Kajol and Rekha looked stunning and sensual in the pictures, it did not go down well with their fans. They faced huge criticism for their edgy photo shoot which caused quite a stir.
However, the dispute did not affect the two divas. In fact, Kajol even joked about posing with Rekha in the same sweater when they met at Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding reception in 2018. It’s clear that she didn’t shy away from her bold photo shoot and owned it like a boss. “The last time we clicked a picture together it was in a sweater,” Kajol captioned the image.
Kajol recently completed three decades in Hindi cinema. She has released numerous hits in her 30-year career, the most notable being Baazigar, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Karan Arjun, Gupt, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Her on-screen pairing with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has always ensured good success in the theatres.
