When Jaya Bachchan faced questions about her decision to work with Amitabh Bachchan; “People said he would never make it”

The actress doesn’t like being captured by papz and finds herself in controversial news. Well, this time she is making headlines for her comment about working with her actor husband Amitabh Bachchan. She talked about how people from the Hindi film industry have been asking her about working with Amitabh Bachchan. Veteran actor Jaya Bachchan and megastar Amitabh Bachchan have worked together in numerous films. The two later got married after falling in love on the sets of one of their films. In a 2010 interview, Jaya Bachchan revealed that people from the industry asked her if she was crazy to work with Big B. She also added that people even told her that he would never make it in the industry. Speaking to Rediff, Jaya recalled “when Amiji came into the film industry and people were saying ‘are you crazy? Why are you working with this person? He will never succeed. The same people who said that worked with him, regularly, later on.” She recalled the incident when she was asked if Abhishek Bachchan would surpass his father Amitabh Bachchan’s towering figure. Jaya further added that not only as a mother, but also as a film student, she would like to see an actor who can really stand up to Amitabh Bachchan. Not necessarily Abhishek, it could be him or anyone who can have that stardom. Adding more, she said, “Why no? On the work front, Jaya Bachchan will return to films with Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film also stars Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi. It is slated to hit the theaters on July 28, 2023. On the other hand, Amitabh Bachchan has two films in the pipeline. One is Project K alongside Deepika Padukone and Prabhas. He will also be seen in Ganpath Part 1 starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon.
