What High School Movies Best Stand the Test of Time?

Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s instantly classic comedy Superbad celebrated its 15 anniversary this week, and it still feels as fresh as the day it was released.

It’s a heck of a feat for a film based on a script initially hatched by the pair when they were only 13 years old. To this day, it’s rare to find anyone who hasn’t seen the movie that gave us one of the most touching fictional bromances, Emma Stone’s first big screen appearance, and of course, “I am McLovin’!”

This got us wondering, what other teen films still stand the test of time? What movies accurately captured those awkward hormone-filled years where everything was confusing, everyone was annoying, and if anything embarrassing happened, it would be the end of our lives as we knew it?

You probably weren’t as cool as Ferris Bueller, you probably didn’t have the credit card limit of Clueless’ Cher Horowitz, and hopefully, your parents never walked in on you in a moment of extreme vulnerability like Jim’s parents in American Pie.

Still, each of these movies shined brightest when they depicted the high school experience with honesty, empathy, and a whole lot of humor.

So which movie about High School has stood the test of time the best for you? Let us know in the comments.
