Vivek Agnihotri tweets about ‘truth and lies’; Israeli envoy criticizes IFFI 2022 jury head Nadav Lapid

IFFI 2022 jury chief Nadav Lapid made a remark that sparked controversy by calling Vivek Agnihotri’s film The Kashmir Files a “propagandistic and vulgar” film. Film actors Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar and others strongly condemned the Israeli director’s remarks and poured their hearts out on social media. Kashmir Files director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri wrote a cryptic tweet and wrote, “Truth is the most dangerous thing. Anupam Kher also tweeted saying, “No matter how tall the lie is.. It is always small compared to the truth.” Also, Israel’s ambassador to India Naor Gilon wrote an open letter to Israeli director Nadav Lapid after he criticized the film at the prestigious film festival. The Israeli envoy said Nadav should be ashamed of himself for abusing the invitation to chair IFFI. Envoy Naor Gillon apologized to India on Twitter. He wrote: “An open letter to #NadavLapid after his criticism of #KashmirFiles. It is not in Hebrew because I wanted our Indian brothers and sisters to be able to understand it. It’s also relatively long so I’ll give you the bottom line first .. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED. The Kashmiri Files is directed by Vivek Agnihotri and the plot of the film revolves around the exodus and killing of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley.
