The story of Kerala has reached every home, whether you have watched it or not, but you know what the story is about. The film features Adah Sharma in the lead role, playing one of the victims from Kerala who was forced to convert and join ISIS. The Kerala Story claims in its film description that around 32,000 girls were converted to Islam and joined ISIS. And later, after being criticized for the numbers, the makers changed the description from 32,000 to 3, and director Sudipto Sen said that after everyone watches the film, they will come out and talk about the claimed numbers.
And after The Kerela Story became a huge hit, producer Vipul Shah hosted a press conference where he addressed the controversy surrounding the girl figures, which were mentioned in the film’s description but changed later. At the press conference, there were several real life victims present who pointed out that their Vipul clarified the 32000 figure dispute and said, “26 ladkiyan yaha hain, aur aur abhi inhone khud kaha, 7000 number ek sanstha ka hain. Toh mujhe lagta hain ab ye 32,000 ya 3, hum sab sai crore ladkiyon se khud mil chukey hain. Toh 3 ke number ki toh koi baat hi nahi thi. ka actual jo ho raha hain use Kerala ka koi vaasta nahi hain.
Vipul Shah further added, “The number of 7000 people managed to spread so much information, we will soon come and do all the investigations, 32000 people too. Uske baad main dekhna chahta hoon ki jin logo ne hamein criticize kiya, kya wo apna rukh badalte gaub? Lekin wo hamare bare mein kya sochte hain isse hamein koi farq nahi padta. You do not weaken the marriage of the girls, do not do anything with them. That’s our demand and that’s what we want to see.”
Victims who attended the press conference mentioned that they know at least 7,000 girls who have converted and joined ISIS, the terrorist organization. The story of Kerela is the same story and they are not targeting any particular religion or hurting religious sentiments. The film has earned more than 150 crores within 12 days of its release and is unstoppable at the box office.
