A video going around the internet attempted the impossible and mapped out how most desi dads watch movies. Every Indian household has earmarked Sundays as their day to lounge about the house and kick back with a rerun of some Bollywood movie showing on the television.
During these days, children often notice their fathers lingering about and going through a whole ritual before actually sitting down to enjoy the movie. The video posted on Instagram explained how all desi dads start at stage one, which is being mildly interested in the film.
This leads to the second stage, which is watching the movie while sipping on tea. The third would be “taking over the couch” and the fourth stage is “agreeing with the hero”. The video then mentions a hilarious interlude of dads watching the movie with “tension,” which then transforms into stage six, “comic relief.”
The clip adds a seventh and final stage to the ritual. It notes a separate step just to add to the comedy of it all, which is “taking glasses off for the final tears.”

People online were in complete agreement with the deduction in the clip. One user commented, “Hahaha love it,” while one noted, “Stage 1 was the perfect.” Another accepted, “That’s real.”
