Veteran actress Mumtaz, who has many hit and iconic movies to her credit, is one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood. She took a break from the industry and went to London with her husband after enthralling fans with her power-packed performances in the late 1960s and mid-1970s. Reportedly, Mumtaz is making her comeback to films after 32 years with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s dream project ‘Heeramandi’. In a recent interview, she opened up about this project and stated she can’t confirm being a part of it until Bhansali makes an official announcement.
The report also added that Heeramandi will mark Mumtaz’s last ever screen appearance and thus she wants it to be memorable. The actress further added, “I am aware of the magic that Mr. Bhansali creates with his heroines. Who wouldn’t want to be in his film?.” Mumtaz was last seen in the 1990 film ‘Aandhiyan.’
On a related note, ‘Heeramandi’ reportedly, will be an eight-episode web series and it will release on Netflix. The show will feature an illustrious cast including Madhuri Dixit, Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadha, Nimrat Kaur, and Sayani Gupta.
