Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani Actress Jaya Prada hit the headlines. This is because the veteran actress has been sentenced to six months in jail in an old case. According to reports, she has been found guilty of not paying dues to her theater workers in Tamil Nadu. She is accused of not paying ESI from workers’ wages. Apart from her, business partners Ram Kumar and Raja Babu were also found guilty and sentenced to jail. Jaya Prada has also been charged with a fine of Rs 5,000 in the case. All about the case

According to a report in Times Now, Jaya Prada, Ram Kumar and Raja Babu owned a theater in Chennai. However, due to unbearable losses, the theater had to close. The theater officials later filed a case against Jaya Prada, Ram Kumar and Raja Babu, accusing them of non-payment of ESI money that was deducted from their salaries. The suit was filed by the Labor State Insurance Corporation in the Egmore Magistrate’s Court in Chennai. The actress also reportedly tried to get the case dismissed. She appealed to the court to dismiss the case, agreeing to pay the dues of the theater staff. However, the court rejected her appeal and rather pronounced the sentence against her. She has now been sentenced to six months in jail and will have to pay a fine of Rs 5,000. What her next step will be has yet to be revealed.
