Veteran TV actress Veena Kapoor is alive and kicking. Contrary to earlier reports which suggested that the actress was murdered by her son over a property dispute, Veena Kapoor has issued a statement that she is alive and is not the person whose death news is doing the rounds.

As per reports, the telly actress registered an NC at Dindoshi police station on Wednesday, after people assumed she was dead and blamed and criticised her son as a murderer. However, Veena Kapoor is not the only celebrity to fall prey to this sick joke on social media. Here are 7 other celebrities who fell prey to death rumours as well.

Paresh Rawal

In May 2021, the actor was declared dead by social media. However, the actor dismissed all rumours of his demise, when he took to Twitter to rubbish the rumours claiming he died on May 14 at 7am. He wrote, “Sorry for the misunderstanding as I slept past 7am…!”

Mukesh Khanna

Shaktiman actor Mukesh Khanna took to Facebook to quash rumours about his death from coronavirus in May 2021. He posted a video on Facebook stating he is perfectly alright and criticising people for spreading false news about his death. He revealed he did not have COVID-19 and said he does not know what is the intention of those spreadin such rumours.

Lucky Ali

Lucky Ali too fell prey to death hoax. He issued a statement on his Instagram story saying he is perfectly fine. The statement read, “Hi everyone, just addressing the rumours. I’m alive and well and resting in peace at home. Haha. Hope you all are staying in and staying safe. May God protect us all during this devastating time.” Lucky Ali’s friend Nafisa Ali had also tweeted about the news of Lucky Ali’s death being a hoax.

Tabassum

While the veteran actress and OG television has passed away in November this year, she had fallen prey to a deat hoax last year when, in April 23, news of her started dooing the rounds on social media. “Aapki shubhkamnaon ki wajah se main bilkul theek hoon,tandurust hoon aur apne parivaar ke saath hoon. Ye jo rumour phail rahi hai mere baare mein woh bilkul ghalat hai, aur main yeh dua karti hoon ke aap sab bhi apne ghar mein safe rahein,” she had written.

Kirron Kher

Anupam Kher’s better half fell prey to a death hoax as well in 2021. Soon after she was diagnosed with blood cancer, rumours started doing the rounds that she had passed. Her husband, Anupam Kher, took to Twitter to announce that the news is false. “There is a rumour going around about #Kirron’s health. It is all false. She is doing absolutely fine. In fact she got her 2nd vaccination done for COVID this afternoon. I will request people not to spread such negative news. Thanks. Stay safe,” he had shared.

Meenakshi Seshadri

Yesteryear actress Meenakshi Seshadri too fell prey to death rumours. It was being speculated she died from COVID-19. The actress ended rumours by posting an update on social media.

Yo Yo Honey Singh

The Indian rapper too had once fallen prey to this sick joke of the internet declaring his death. The rumour stated that the rapper had died in an accident.
