Celebrities, they’re just like us. When finding love in real life seems not compatible with a busy schedule, dating apps can save the day.
Many famous people are on celebrity dating app Raya, created in March 2015 to help those working in creative industries connect. Of course, the app is private and membership-based, meaning that in order to subscribe you need to receive a recommendation from an existing user. After that, the application is placed in a queue and reviewed by a membership committee.
But who are the celebrities who swear by the Raya app and those who just didn’t connect with it? Everyone is aware that the likes of Ben Affleck and John Mayer have used the app to their advantage, but these insanely celebs who have been seen or admitted to swiping freely on the social network…
8 Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina’s Kiernan Shipka Loves The Raya App
Kiernan Shipka has been in the entertainment business since she was a child, when she rose to fame for playing Sally Draper on Mad Men. Her career skyrocketed when she was cast as Sabrina Spellman in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, a role she has recently reprised in the latest season of Riverdale.
Having been in the spotlight since she was eight, it shouldn’t come as a surprise if the actress thanks Raya for helping her connect with people in real life.
“Meeting people has always been kind of a funny situation for me, growing up not going to school, but knowing everyone who went to the schools in LA. It’s good, I’ve found ways,” Shipka told Stylist in March 2019.
“Raya for life. Love it. God bless Raya,” she added.

A source added that his profile song was ‘Brown Sugar’ by D’Angelo.
Tatum is currently in a relationship with actress Zoë Kravitz, but Raya had nothing to do with their romance, reportedly started in the summer of 2021. Despite having voiced Clark Kent and Selina Kyle in The Lego Batman Movie in 2017, the two only met years later, when Kravitz asked Tatum to star in her upcoming directorial feature debut Pussy Island. Spoiler: he said yes.
6 Drew Barrymore Got Stood Up By A Raya Date
Like most dating apps, Raya doesn’t work for everyone. Actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore has mixed feelings about the social network. She recalled going in with big expectations, but ended up being stood up by a restaurant owner.
“I did terribly too. I got stood up, and I didn’t match with anyone. And my friends gave me this sort of bloated sense of false confidence. They were like, ‘You should try it. You will do great.’ It was a car wreck,” she said on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in 2020.
“But, you know, I love being able to be in the conversation, I have to say. Like, I definitely had fun with it. And I’ve always wanted to go on a blind date, but my life got in the way of that, so I thought, like, online dating might satiate that desire. And no, it was a real wake-up call. But it was fun, and yes, there were lots of exciting people.”
5 Olivia Rodrigo Slammed Vomit-Inducing Raya
The ‘drivers license’ singer also had a terrible time on Raya, which she admitted to having joined for a short period of time.

“Like, I could not.”
4 Lena Dunham Only Lasted Twenty Minutes On Raya
Similarly, actress, writer, director and producer Lena Dunham deleted Raya after only twenty minutes.
“Let’s have a contest for who lasted the shortest amount of time on Raya. I’ll go first, twenty minutes and one creative director of a watch company long!” she tweeted in September last year.
But the Girls creator didn’t give up on blind dates completely as she and her husband, British-Peruvian musician Luis Felber, actually went on one in January 2021 and tied the knot only a few months later.

Before meeting Fischer, Schumer revealed she got on the Raya app with her friend, comedian Vanessa Bayer.
