These Celebrities Absolutely Loathed Netflix’s Harry And Meghan Series

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are undoubtedly magnets for controversy. Despite many people claiming that they’ve been unjustly criticized or put through the wringer by the British press, the Twitter mob, or even other members of the British royal family, there are just as many people calling them out for being “fake” or “attention-seekers”. Perhaps never more so than immediately following the release of their Netflix docu-series, Harry & Meghan.


The Liz Garbus-directed series has received a ton of flack from an assortment of celebrities who’ve claimed that not only is not worth watching but that it actually makes the former royals far, far less sympathetic. Here’s what they’ve had to say…

9/9 Howard Stern On The Harry And Meghan Documentary

Legendary radio host Howard Stern has never been shy about sharing his opinion, including of the royal family. According to Us Weekly, he did just that on his SiriusXM show.

“It’s been painful,” Stern said to his audience of watching the series with his wife, Beth. “They come off like such whiny b**ches. I gotta tell you man, I just don’t get it.”

“I get Prince Harry being pissed off at the monarchy for his mother. They treated her like s**t,” Stern admitted before adding, “So you got my empathy there. But Jesus Christ, when those two start whining about ‘Wah wah wah, and they don’t like me’ — and [Meghan] wants to be beloved in this country, but man, oh man.”

According to Us Weekly, the former Real Housewives of New York City star called the series “boring”.

“It didn’t hold my attention. It seemed like they really wanted to be humanized. They wanted us to know that they are real human beings. … We believe that you are really in love and we believe that you’re really human beings,” Frankle said. “It felt like this entire documentary was about how famous we are … it was relentless.”

7/9 Sharon Osbourne On The Harry And Meghan Documentary

According to Us Weekly, Sharon Osbourne was interviewed on Piers Morgan’s Uncensored and bashed the series for being full of “whining”.

“And you know, the curtsy and the thing she said about Medieval Times — the lunch with the queen was like medieval times which as you know is a Disney-type entertainment place for kids. It is just so horribly disrespectful and just a whine fest. I mean, is [Harry’s] book going to be the same thing?” Osbourne said to Morgan.

She went on to say, “You know what? You have a great life, you have a beautiful family, and you are so much in love. Move on. Get a life and move on.”

6/9 Piers Morgan On The Harry And Meghan Documentary

It should go without saying that Piers Morgan didn’t like the Netflix docuseries. After all, he has bene one of the most ardant Meghan Markle critics around. Following the release of their series, Morgan Tweeted, “BREAKING: Princess Pinocchio & Prince Hypocrite use my voice to flog their ghastly new series.”

5/9 Meghan McCain On The Harry And Meghan Documentary

According to Wonderwall, Meghan McCain slammed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in her column for The Daily Mail.

“After the infamous Oprah interview and Volume I, everyone was expecting some bombshells. But it was all duds,” the daughter of the late Senator John McCain and former View co-host wrote.

McCain went on to say that Prince Harry and Markle didn’t offer viewers any new evidence of their trials and tribulations.

“Instead, we are shown them crying during emotional hypnotherapy sessions — whatever that is. Not to mention what they put their family through. How trashy to shame your own flesh and blood and for what? It was all smoke and no fire.”

4/9 Jeremy Clarkson On The Harry And Meghan Documentary

Jeremy Clarkson, the former host of Top Gear, got into a lot of trouble after he slammed Meghan Markle in his column for The Sun. Specifically, he received backlash for saying that he wished Meghan Markle was treated like Cersei Lannister on her walk of shame in Game of Thrones.

Despite hating the docuseries, Clarkson did take to Twitter to apologize for his “clumsy reference”.

3/9 Kathy Griffin On The Harry And Meghan Documentary

Kathy Griffin wasn’t as harsh as other celebrities on this list when she criticized the Netflix series. Instead, she focused on her disappointment in the series as well as the way in which Prince Harry met Meghan Markle on Instagram.

“I’m disappointed. I thought this was going to be a great love story. … Prince Harry’s like Armie freaking Hammer. What if Prince Harry’s the new House of Hammer?” Griffin said, according to Us Weekly.

2/9 Megyn Kelly On The Harry And Meghan Documentary

Megyn Kelly called Harry & Meghan “boring, uninspiring” and an “interminable waste of time”. During her SiriusXM show, the former Fox news anchor slammed Prince Harry, claiming that he needed ” a real psychotherapist” and not a “whiny, woke annoying wife.” She went on to deem the Netflix series a total “farce”, according to The New York Post.

Finally, Kelly Tweeted, “As he prances around the $14m, 9-bdrm mansion in Montecito w/massive gardens, white lighted-cocktail parties & mountain views from his 7-acre yard, Harry laments how all he ever wanted was this ‘normal life!’ These are the LEAST SELF-AWARE PEOPLE ON EARTH.”

1/9 Michael Smerconish On The Harry And Meghan Documentary

The centrist CNN news anchor and host of SiriusXM’s acclaimed The Michael Smerconish Program told a caller that his opinion of Harry and Meghan changed after watching the Netflix series. Or, at least, it did momentarily.

Fans of The Michael Smerconish Program know the political analyst and layer is no fan of Meghan Markle, but he said he briefly changed his tune after seeing the first episode. However, upon seeing the second installment, Smerconish claimed that the whole thing was clearly orchestrated by the documentary subjects themselves and felt over-dramatized.
