Fans were over the moon when the creation of Hera Pheri was confirmed. People thought that they would get to see the reunion of the super hit trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal who entertained the fans in Hera Pheri and Phir Hera Pheri. But Akshay was replaced by Kartik Aaryan in Hera Pheri 3 and fans are in disbelief. Akshay has now broken his silence on not doing the third installment of his hit comedy franchise.
At the Hindustan Times leaders meet, Akshay was asked about the speculations whether he is a part of Hera Pheri 3 or not. The actor confirmed that he had dropped out of the project and revealed that he was not happy with the script of the film and other aspects of it did not impress him much.
“Look, the film was offered to me, I was told about it. But the script, the script and everything… I wasn’t happy; I was not happy with it. I have to just not say it, I have to do what people want to see and that’s why I stepped back. I took a step back. For me, it’s part of my life, my journey in a huge way. I feel very sad too. I feel very sad that I can’t do it because I’m not happy with how things have turned out… the creative thing. I’m not happy with it, so I just stepped down,” Akshay said at the event.

Akshay also spoke about how the Hera Pheri franchise has got a special place in the hearts and minds of the audience. He also apologized to his fans and thanked them for their appreciation. He also addressed their immense love and how he sees a trend that says, “No Raju, no Hera Pheri.” He said that as much as the fans are hurt, he can also feel the same pain. He said he felt sorry to the fans for not making Hera Pheri 3.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that producer Firoz Nadiadwala chose to rope in Kartik as the latter was more lucrative than Akshay due to their remuneration. While Akshay has demanded Rs 90 crore as well as a profit share, Karthik is ready to make the film for Rs 30 crore. The film will be directed by Anees Bazmee and talks are in advanced stages.
