The English on Amazon Prime Video, Mythic Quest + More

[ad_1]

It’s November, which means we’re on the cusp of holiday programming, but there are still plenty of new shows and movies coming out this month that have noting to do with jolly old elves, snow, or any of that. This week marks the return of the Apple TV+ cult favorite comedy, Mythic Quest, and the premiere of the Emily Blunt Western, The English. But of course if you want some holiday cheer, Lindsay Lohan is bringing it  to Netflix in her new holiday movie, Falling For Christmas. With so many great new shows and films to choose from, let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.

New Movies and Shows to Stream This Weekend: Mythic Quest, The English, Falling For Christmas, + More

Rob McElhenney has had a busy year; not only did he buy a whole soccer team (as was documented in his Hulu series Welcome To Wrexham), he also has been hard at work on a new season of the Apple TV+ show that he created with Charlie Day and Megan Ganz, Mythic Quest, where he stars as the creator of a massively successful multi-player RPG called Mythic Quest. In Prime Video’s The English, Emily Blunt proves once again that she can’t be pigeonholed into any one genre; the new series is a Western that finds her character, a British aristocrat, seeking revenge for the death of her son in the American West. And in Falling For Christmas, Lindsay Lohan and Glee‘s Chord Overstreet give us a holiday rom-com inspired by the ’80s classic, Overboard.

New on Prime Video November 11: The English

Despite the fact that Emily Blunt has had a lengthy film career, Prime Video’s new limited series, The English, marks her television debut. Set in Wyoming in the 1890s, Blunt stars as Lady Cornelia Locke, an Englishwoman whose son was murdered. She joins with a former Pawnee scout, Eli Whipp (Chaske Spencer) to search for his killer, but along the way they realize how dangerous their mission is. The full season of The English will be available to binge when it premieres on Friday, November 11.

New on Apple TV+ November 11: Mythic Quest Season 3

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia is currently in between seasons 15 and 16, so what better time for Ron McElhenney and Charlie Day to squeeze out a new season of their other show, Mythic Quest? The new, third season reunites McElhenney’s Ian Grimm with the co-creator of the Mythic Quest video game, Poppy (Charlotte Nicdao), who have both resigned from the team to start their own video game studio called GrimPop. The rivalry between the companies is at the heart of the new season, which also co-stars David Hornsby, Danny Pudi, Naomi Ekperigin, and Imani Hakim.

New on Netflix November 10: Falling For Christmas

Falling For Christmas not only marks the first film in Lindsay Lohan’s current deal with Netflix (which will see her making at least one more film with the streamer), it’s also her first major role in a film since 2013’s The Canyons. Netflix has made a name for itself putting out original Christmas movies, and Falling For Christmas is a sweet rom-com that makes itself right at home among titles like The Christmas Switch and A Christmas Prince. In the new film, Lohan stars as Sierra Belmont, a hotel heiress who gets into a skiing accident as loses her memory as a result. Nursing her back to health is Jake (Chord Overstreet), the owner of a modest lodge, and even though Sierra can’t remember anything about who she is, she does remember that she loves room service and designer clothes, which makes her time with the blue-collar Jake awkward at first…until they fall in love.
