The Bicester Collection, Supporting Sustainability And Emerging Fashion Designers During Milan And Paris Fashion Weeks

Sitting at the intersection Milan Fashion Week and Paris Fashion Week is the Bicester Collection, being true to form and supporting sustainable fashion. The Bicester Collection is a shopping experience, a community of retailers serving retailers, where global partnerships thrive. It’s made up of dedicated people with Scott Malkin, the founder and chairman at the helm ensuring that Bicester Collection is serving the various industries connected to it.

But first Milan

The Italians are known for being purveyors of culture, having for centuries produced creative talent into one microcosm. Italy has produced some of the most gifted of fashion designers, and continues to produce them. On Sunday night the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI), working with the UN’s Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI), with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the ICE Agency, and the Municipality of Milan gathered together to host the CNMI Sustainability Fashion Awards 2022 at Milan’s famed Teatro all Scala.

The Bicester Collection was involved, supporting emerging sustainable fashion talent with its renewed partnership with CNMI at the Awards. Awarding The Bicester Collection Award for Emerging Designers, deepens the Collection’s already cemented footprint in one, recognizing up and coming talent, and two, showcasing talent at the forefront of sustainability. The winner will receive mentorship and a physical working space at The Creative Spot, along with key resources to grow their business, while being able to partake in The Bicester Collection’s global platform.

The night was presented by Spanish actress and model Rossy De Palma, who wore a Valentino dress from their Resort 2023 collection. Fourteen prizes and 2 special mentions were awarded. Winners received the Venere degli Stracci, a 20^th century iconic piece of art made with 3D printing and customized by Maestro Pistoletto. Armani, Gucci, Prada, and Valentino all participated, presenting 5 looks each in a short runway show. Giorgio Armani, Alessandro Michele from Gucci, Miuccia Prada, and Pierpaolo Piccioli from Valentino all participated with the looks presented from their Houses.

La Vallée Village and Vanille Verloës’ sustainable capsule collection

Located about forty minutes outside of Paris is La Vallée Village. One of several villages, La Vallée is quintessentially French, from the many French brands present to the restaurants on site. But yesterday, at the height of Paris Fashion Week, the Village kicked off the unveiling of French fashion designer and artist Vanille Verloës.

Verloës is gifted at upcycling clothes with the ability to reimagine new pieces, all the while saving the environment and creating something unique. She has taken a trench coat and created a trench skirt with a matching jacket top, or denim jeans to create a jacket, pants pockets to create a pair of, well, pants, and several other stylish items. All items are available for sale at La Vallée Village starting today. Verloës has been at La Vallée Village all of September, sharing tips and tricks on how to recycle and elevate vintage pieces, in a theme of slow fashion.

While it’s fun to shop, the Bicester Collection is more than simply shopping. The company takes sustainability and lifting up emerging talent seriously, and actively works in these areas, striving to make the world a little bit better than it has been found.
