Dil Chahta Hai actress Sonali Kulkarni recently hit headlines as she made a remark about Indian women. At an event, Sonali Kulkarni said that many women in India are lazy as they want partners with a good job, own house, etc. She said women forget to stand up for themselves. This statement did not sit well with many. Not only Urfi Javed, even Ambarsaria singer Sonam Mohapatra reacted to her statement. Sonali then apologized after receiving a backlash. Sona Mohapatra has already made a post of appreciation for Sonali.
In a recent tweet, Sona Mohapatra said she agrees with many women who find Sonali Kulkarni’s statement disturbing. But she praised her for acknowledging the hurt and apologizing. She indirectly took issue with some men who knowingly hurt people but don’t apologize.

In her apology, Sonali wrote that her intention was not to hurt women. Rather, she has often expressed her support for women. She also wrote that she was sorry if she had unknowingly hurt anyone with her statement. She said that she does not enjoy headlines and does not want to be the center of sensational situations.
