Actress Shalini Kapoor, who is currently seen essaying the role of Mamta Oberoi in TV show ‘Sirf Tum’, enjoys balancing her personal and professional life.

She adds, “Acting is my passion and family is my lifeline. I can’t compromise either of them. I feel not just in this profession, but in any occupation, we pursue at the end of the day we should know how to balance time between work and family. If we keep working all the time and thinking about it, at the end of the day we turn out to be fools who just keep working. Family encourages and celebrates our success. They make us feel special.”

Shalini, who was shooting earlier for her Bollywood movie alongside Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon, says she couldn’t make a visit to Kolkata for her father’s birthday so she planned a candlelight dinner date for her parents.

She shares, “I have always been an enthusiast when it comes to planning surprises for anyone special to me. Every year, I organise a special get together for dad at home with his friends and family. But this time I was busy with shoots and couldn’t travel to Kolkata or call them here. So, I was wondering if I could do something extraordinary. I booked a candlelight dinner in a 7-star hotel in Kolkata. I had also ordered different surprises like birthday cake, bouquet, music and some gifts from us. Though this was the first time after years they spent some me-hours. But they missed us and showered lots of blessings. I feel like a proud daughter.”

She continues, “I believe in strong family values and going an extra mile for my loved ones. It gives me immense satisfaction to do something for my loved ones. When we were small people around us used to sarcastically say you don’t have a boy. I told them at a very young age. I will be more than a boy! Glad I could prove this.”

Shalini has been part of many shows like ‘Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev’, ‘Qubool Hai’, ‘Swaragini’, ‘Kahaan Hum Kahaan Tum’ among others feels daughters are equal to sons.
