Popular comedian Raju Srivastava has been in the intensive care unit on a ventilator at AIIMS, New Delhi for the past few days after he suffered a heart attack while working out at the gym on August 10. On the same day, he underwent angioplasty. His manager revealed that Raju’s condition is improving slightly, but he remains in the intensive care unit on life support. His friend and actor Shekhar Suman recently revealed that he noticed Raju’s frailty and advised him to take care of his health two weeks ago.
“Raju came to the sets of Laughter Champion in India about 15 days ago and we chatted for a long time in my toilet van. I noticed that he had become a little weak and I also advised him to take things a little easier and not stress so much in life. He was fine, but I told him that he should take care of his health. He said he didn’t have any ailments and everything was fine. And after 15 days we got this shocking news that he was hospitalised,” Shekhar told TOI, adding that he is in touch with his nephew and his family.
Shekhar also shared Raju’s health information and said that the comedian moved his fingers three days ago and is showing signs of improvement. He hoped Raju would recover soon. He had earlier informed fans that Raju is stable. He also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their inquiries about Raju’s health and treatment.
“Although still on a ventilator, Raju is stable enough to be moved for a possible MRI. Thank you @narendramodi ji @rajnathsingh ji @myogiadityanath ji for taking interest in his health & arranging the best doctors but above all YOUR prayers gave him a new life,” Shekhar tweeted.
Apart from Shekhar, Kailash Kher, Amitabh Bachchan, Sunil Pal and Ahsaan Qureshi prayed for Raju’s speedy recovery and also urged people to stop spreading rumors about his health.
