Shakira vs. Gerard Pique: The reasons why they will never have a good relationship

The breakup between Shakira and Gerard Pique after more than 12 years of relationship was, in addition to a worldwide scandal, a tortuous process for the two celebrities, since after a war of accusations and disqualifications, until December both reached an agreement before the Court of First Instance and Family Court number 18 of Barcelona.

At that time, Pique’s lawyer, Ramon Tamborero, said that the former couple was “calmer and relaxed” after the signing of the separation and that the arrangement was looking for the welfare of their Milan and Sasha.

More than a month later, the same lawyer returned to give more details about the settlement, exclusively for the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia and, although he explained that the settlement was very reasonable, the possibility that the two could have a civilized relationship is complicated:

“Both have shown great intelligence. They have made a great effort for the good of their children, so that they would not be the protagonists”, clarified the lawyer and pointed out that money was not a reason for conflict and that both agreed to avoid a lawsuit that would affect their children.

The lawyer explained that the negotiation “required a seven-month negotiation in which preparatory meetings were organized”. He even detailed that the decisive meeting before the signing lasted 13 hours“, but that thanks to that, the day of the signing only took 15 minutes.

According to Tamborero, the most complicated agreement to reach was to define the custody of the children and in which it was concluded that Shakira would go to live with her two children in Miami, with the condition that the visits and periods in which Pique can live with his children are in writing.

Originally, Shakira decided to move to Miami in January, but the trip has been put on hold because the Colombian singer’s father is in poor health and he still has to solve some tax problems with the Spanish authorities.

Finally, in the interview, Tamborero acknowledged that it is possible to have a cordial relationship between an ex-couple, even with all the scandal that caused the breakup: “Being friends with your ex-couple? No, no, that’s utopian”, although he accepted that it is something very difficult to happen in this case.

Regarding the songs that the Colombian has released talking about their separation and where she releases certain reproaches to the infidelity of her then partner with Clara Chia, the lawyer explained that this complicated the negotiation and lengthened the times:

“Songs aside, it has required a seven-month negotiation”, he said in reference to ‘Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.

But a collaboration with Karol G is also expected, where he also talks “hard against them” or with Manuel Turizo, of which even some alleged fragments were leaked.
