Pakistani-born actress Somi Ali was rumored to be in a relationship with superstar Salman Khan in the 1990s. After a very brief stint in Hindi films, she finally left India in 1999 and then started her NGO No More Tears to rescue women from domestic violence. Now she has again accused Salman of abusing her in her now deleted post. Sharing an old picture from a film set with Salman, Somi spoke about her show being banned in India and also being threatened with legal action. She used some strong words as she vented her frustrations and accused Salman of physical abuse and sodomy going on for many years. Somy went on to call Salman a “male chauvinist pig” and also shamed all the male and female actors supporting the Tiger 3 actor by calling him a woman beater as well. She also poked fun at Salman’s height and ended her statement by saying, “It’s time to go to war.” She has now deleted her Instagram post. Somi had earlier hinted that she will expose a certain powerful Bollywood personality who is abusing her power and position in the industry to exploit scores of women. Though she didn’t take any names, she tagged Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and wrote, “Bollywood’s Harvey Weinstein! You will be exposed. The women you abuse will one day come forward and share their truth. Just like @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb.”

Somi also revealed that she experienced domestic violence at home and it is important that the taboo against speaking out against such a bad practice is removed. Her NGO works to save men, women and children from domestic violence and has been working continuously since 2007. She worked in films like Anth (1994), Yaar Gaddar (1994), Andolan (1995) and Chupp (1997).
