Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani which didn’t get much response for the trailer is doing well at the box office. It made Rs 11.10 crore on the first day in the domestic market. Now the movie is doing very well in North America. Not unexpected at all as Karan Johar has a loyal fan base among the NRI audience. The movie is liked for the great chemistry of Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, funny dialogues, good music and superb production. Karan Johar showed that he still knows the nerves of the audience. It’s the quintessential no-nonsense glossy entertainer that the crowds craved.
The film has the third best opening after Pathaan and Ponniyin Selvan. Pathaan received an opening day of USD 1.48 million while Ponniyin Selvan was USD one million. Rocky Aur Rani Kee Prem Kahani is in third place.

RARKPK box office trends
According to Box Office India, the film shows good growth on the second day. It looks like the film could earn Rs 15-16 crore, which is the best for a post-pandemic film. The trend is better than Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. The Delhi audience loved the film. It is also doing well in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore.
The film’s music has not been appreciated as much as that of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and his other films. But people like Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Tota Roy Chowdhury and other actors. The budget of the film is Rs 178 crores plus. The film needs to do well in smaller markets to make its money back.
