Although there was a lot of negativity surrounding the film and netizens calling for its boycott, it turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2022 so far. Alia and Ranbir’s film Brahmastra had a great opening weekend. On Sunday, the film managed to earn a whopping amount of Rs 40 crores.

As reported by Hindustan Times, Brahmastra earned Rs 41 to 42 crore at the box office on its first Sunday. It managed to mint approximately Rs 37 crores in its first Saturday. The film released on September 9 and managed to register good footfalls at the theaters. This takes the film’s three-day total to Rs 110 crore, the report said. Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which is among the highest grossers of this year, made an estimated Rs 56 crore in its first weekend. Brahmastra certainly broke many records this year. Even in Tamil and Telugu languages, the film performed well.
Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy in pivotal roles. After the release of the movie, there were many people who just couldn’t stop admiring the VFX used in the movie and compared it to Hollywood movies like Marvel. On the other hand, many also gave negative reviews and called it a mediocre movie. Now the debate is about the film’s box office earnings. Kangana Ranaut objected and said the numbers were inflated. She pointed her finger at Karan Johar, one of the producers of this mega-budget film.
