Prince Harry has made a “declaration of war” on the royal family in his latest round of bombastic TV attacks, international media have said.

The Duke of Sussex ‘shot through the heart’ of the monarchy with the latest revelations in interviews with ITV’s Tom Bradby and CBS’s Anderson Cooper.

In scathing criticism of his family, Harry called his stepmother Camilla “villainous” and “dangerous”, ignoring pleas from King Charles not to attack his wife.

Spanish news channel ABC condemned the comments, saying today: “Prince Harry has shot the heart of the British royal family.”

They added that the “wayward son’s” media blitz was causing a “nightmare” for the new monarchy with his “explosive” remarks.

Süddeutsche Zeitung, one of Germany’s biggest dailies, led today with the headline: “Declaration of War on the Royal House.”

A colleague from Germany’s Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung said today: “It’s good that the Queen no longer has to experience this.”

The withering review said Harry had “ruined the family life of the royals”, adding: “The prince and his wife are portrayed as well-meaning well-meaning people who were accused of being eaten by the Windsors in the tabloid press.

“However, they themselves show no respect for the life, dignity or privacy of others.”

Spanish publication El Pais announced last night: “Harry has decided to present himself to the world as a man who has achieved peace with himself – thanks to years of therapy – and happiness with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children Archie, three, and Lilibeth, a year and a half.

“At no time does it occur to him that in so doing he betrays the intimacy of close relatives or directly attacks them or the monarchical institution.”

Prince Harry’s hotly anticipated memoir, Spare, goes on sale worldwide tomorrow, promising scandalous revelations about his own life and the private lives of his family.

French publication Le Figaro has dubbed the royal “Dirty Harry, dirtier than ever” amid a string of interviews, Netflix shows and lucrative book deals as he continues to sell his story and speak his “truth”.

In his 60 Minutes interview with Anderson Cooper yesterday, Harry said of Camilla: “She was the villain, she was the third person in the marriage, she had to rehabilitate her image.

“That made her dangerous because of the connections she was building in the British press. And there was an open willingness on both sides to trade information and with a family built on hierarchy, and with her about to become queen consort, there would be people or bodies left on the street because of it.

But hours earlier, in an interview which viewers said contained several contradictions, he told ITV’s Tom Bradby that he was not “scathing” at Camilla in his book. Harry’s controversies include denying previous claims that the royal family is racist.

There was also disbelief when Harry told Mr Bradby that whatever he said to William in the future would remain “private”, despite using his memoirs, TV interviews, a Netflix documentary and an Oprah special to told what his family and Meghan told him behind closed doors. He also said he didn’t want to hurt his family.

Mr Bradby was visibly stunned – as were millions of viewers – by his blatant U-turn from previously inflammatory claims that an unnamed senior royal had raised concerns about his son Archie’s skin colour.

The broadcaster brought up Oprah’s interview with Meghan in 2021 and said: “You accused members of your family of racism.”

But Harry replied, “No, I’m not. That’s what the British press said.

The CBS interview came hours after a longer meeting in the UK with ITV in which he told his friend Mr Bradby that his family was “complicit” in the “pain and suffering” caused to his wife Meghan and compared to “thugs”. ‘.

He suggested that they helped “ruin” his and Meghan’s reputation, forcing them to move to California, and did not “show a desire to reconcile.”

Harry also said there were “a lot of stereotypes” about Meghan after she was introduced to the royal family because she is a “divorced, biracial American actress”. But in a controversial interview, he later insisted the royals were not racist – despite the accusation being at the heart of Sussex’s interview with Oprah in 2021.

The Duke said the comments about his son Archie’s skin color were “unconscious bias”. Mr Bradby appeared surprised by the response – while experts said Harry clearly did not understand the term he was using now.

Harry’s new book comes out tomorrow in the UK, but was released earlier in Spain.

The duke wrote in his memoirs how he and William begged the king not to marry Camilla, and he told Anderson Cooper: “We didn’t think it was necessary. We thought it would do more harm than good.

However, in his interview with ITV in the UK on Sunday night, the Duke denied he had been “scathing” about the Queen Consort in his autobiography.

Presenter Tom Bradby said: “I want to speak briefly about your stepmother and the press because you are quite constantly vitriolic and suggest that you are…”

Harry replies “Scathing?…What, scathing at?”

Mr Bradby replies: “Well, as you say, ‘your interests were sacrificed on her PR altar’ to quote, and you seem to be specifically referring to that. Now her people might say it’s not a crime to go to lunch with journalists.

Harry: “Well, I think the book makes it very clear what happened.”
