Politics is personal for me: Kamal Haasan interview | Entertainment Interview

[ad_1]

‘Vikram’ is a film packed with emotion and entertainment. We are only hoping that people come out feeling happy and satiated after coming out of the theaters. The audience should be in a dilemma as to who performed well in the film. Was it Kamal Haasan? Fahadh Faasil or Vijay Sethupathi?

You are sharing screen space with Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi for the first time. What was it like on the sets?

When I worked with Sathyan sir and Prem Nazir sir, we would chat like college friends. That was the kind of camaraderie we shared on the sets. It is only when they call you “eda” that I remember the age gap between us. Thikkurissi Sukumaran Nair and Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair were like buddies. I like to share that kind of camaraderie with the new generation of actors. And that’s what I have tried.

In ‘Dasavatharam’, there was a mention of a virus. Was that on your mind when the pandemic started?

I still have that fear. Even Bill Gates has mentioned that. In the future, such pandemics will not be unusual or unexpected.

About taking a break from movies…

I have watched four films in a day during the lockdown. I wrote 2 or 3 scripts. If you look at it that way, I don’t think I can ever take a break from movies. Cinema is always there in my life, in some way or the other.

You have always believed in saying your politics through your films…

I will tell my politics in my films. I will unapologetically express myself in every film I produce. The same goes for this film too. I believe that politics affect our daily lives. So I also like to make sure my influence is there in politics. It is not right to remain detached from politics. We should check our political account with the same commitment as we check our bank account.

About Surya’s role in ‘Vikram’

He plays a guest role. Maybe you can say that it is just a preview before the second part. Rest you guys decide after watching the movie.
