Vikram is a film full of emotion and entertainment. We only hope people leave the salons happy and full. The audience must be in a dilemma as to who has performed well in the film. Was it Kamal Haasan? Fahadh Faasil or Vijay Sethupathi?

You are sharing screen space with Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi for the first time. What was it like on set?

When I was working with Sir Satyan and Sir Prem Nazir, we chatted like college friends. That was the kind of friendship we shared on set. Only when they call “eda” do I think of the age difference between us. Thikkurissi Sukumaran Nair and Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair were like friends. I love sharing that kind of camaraderie with the new generation of actors. And this is what I have tried.

A virus is mentioned in ‘Dasavatharam’. Did you think about this when the pandemic started?

I still have that fear. Even Bill Gates mentioned it. In the future, such pandemics will not be unusual or unexpected.

About taking a break from the movies…

I watched four movies a day during the lockdown. I wrote 2 or 3 scripts. If you look at it that way, I don’t think I could ever take a break from movies. Cinema is always present in my life, in one way or another.

You have always believed in expressing your politics through your films….

I will tell my politics in my films. I will unapologetically express myself in every film I produce. The same goes for this movie. I believe that politics affects our daily lives. So I also want to make sure that my influence is out there in politics. It is not right to stay out of politics. We should check our political account with the same commitment as we check our bank account.

On Suriya’s role in Vikram

He plays a guest role. Maybe you can say that this is just a preview before the second part. Rest is up to you after you watch the movie.
