EastEnders actress Emma Barton will be taking part in the celebrity version of Pointless alongside her former Strictly Come Dancer partner Anton Du Beke in an episode that airs on Saturday evening (August 12).
The 46-year-old has become a jewel in the Albert Square crown since taking on the role of Honey Mitchell on the BBC One soap in 2005. Her character has since seen turbulent up and downs including struggling with an eating disorder, domestic violence, and a frowned-upon relationship with Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick).
Most recently Honey has become a tower of strength as she supports the Mitchells following the death of Lola Pearce. But tonight the soap star takes to the spotlight as she will appear next to Strictly Judge Anton Du Beke as the pair hope to win cash for their chosen charities. Rocker boyfriend!
Emma has been dating music producer Jason Perry, the former frontman of British rock band A, for several months and she couldn’t look happier. She appeared to confirm the romance back in March when she shared a photo beside her beau while they enjoyed a time out at Soho House.
Last week, Emma shared a reel on Instagram including some of her best photos of a recent trip to Italy with Jason. Besides the sweet video, she wrote: “Tuscany is Beautiful. What a wonderful few days being spoilt in Florence & Lucca.. A gorgeous stay at @grottagiusti
“Indulged in Culture, Music, Art, Love, Food, Drink, Weather..& a few mosquito bites thrown in…(but we’ll ignore them)”. Jason replied to the post and said: “I loved every second with you @theemmabarton x.”
Emma was previously married to lawyer Nigel Stoat in 2002, before splitting in 2005.
Co-star crush!
In an interview with The Sun, Emma addressed Jamie Borthwick’s desire to “marry” her despite the 17-year age gap. Jamie, who was only 14 when he first met Emma, has said: “I fell in love with her long, shapely legs and I wanted to marry her.”
The Jay Brown actor has been open about fancying Emma for 16 years but she doesn’t quite reciprocate the crush. Emma said that Jamie “used to kiss me on set and say to me, before I went in, good luck, Em, good luck, Em.”
However, she views him more like a “baby brother”. The pair went on to share an on-screen romance but because of Covid restrictions on set at the time, they were prevented from actually getting physical on set.
Emma said at the time: “What’s been difficult is that we’re under these Covid restrictions, so we can’t show any closeness, which is a bit of a shame with a new relationship. And Jamie’s a little bit cheesed off about that!”
Net worth
Emma’s exact earnings haven’t been disclosed, but according to net worth websites such as Celebstrendsnow.com. the actress is worth roughly £800,000. Her primary salary comes from her work on the soap, which is known to pay regular cast a figure of between £150,000 and £200,000.
Emma also will have banked extra earnings in other endeavours, including her stint on Strictly Come Dancing in 2019 where she finished as runner-up with former professional dancer turned judge Anton Du Beke.
