YLAI’s goal is to empower emerging entrepreneurs from the Western Hemisphere to help improve their economic potential alongside their communities and countries. Launched by the White House in 2015, the YLAI Scholarship Program has awarded over 1,000 scholarships and is growing. YLAI Fellows have shared American business models, increased trade, fostered job creation, and built networks of young entrepreneurs and business and social leaders of more than 50,000 members in 37 countries Latin Americaon The Caribbean, Canadaand United States.

“YLAI is a demonstration of [the State Department’s] commitment to expanding partnerships and deepening engagement with America’s leaders in support of inclusive prosperity,” noted Stacey WhiteActing Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Vacca helped launch the first class of YLAI Fellows in 2016 as a Presidential Ambassador for Global Entrepreneurship through the White House. This year she returned to once again deliver the keynote address at the YLAI Closing Forum, but this time in her role as of Dallas introductory entrepreneur in residence.

“It is an honor for us Nina Vatsa with us again to speak with our YLAI Fellows. She is a living example of how entrepreneurship can improve families, communities and even an entire life. When young people hear her story, they can see what is possible through the incredible power of entrepreneurship and a global perspective,” said Diego SandovalYLAI Program Officer.

“There is nothing more important to creating prosperity globally than encouraging entrepreneurship, especially among the younger generation,” Vatsa said. “The work of YLAI is incredibly important and the impact the fellows have had in their communities and home countries is truly remarkable. I am proud to support and encourage them as they take their next steps as world changers.”

After the YLAI Closing Forum, fellows will take everything they learned during the duration of the program, including their Entrepreneurial Leadership Action Plan (E-LAP) and the hands-on leadership training they received, back to their home countries. This knowledge, combined with their newly expanded networks that span the Western Hemisphere, will enable them to turn their visions into reality.
