India is one of those countries in the world which are among the worst affected by terrorism spread in the name of religion. And everyone knows how religious fanaticism is used to burn the social fabric of the country. India is one of those countries in the world which are among the worst affected by terrorism spread in the name of religion. There are films that demonstrate how terrorism deeply affects our daily lives, but there are hardly any films that boldly question the practice of brainwashing young people to become terrorists and kill innocent people in the name of religion. Director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s ’72 Hoorain’ exposes the dirty game of tricking people into becoming terrorists and turning them into killing machines.
The best part of the movie is that it does not preach to convey its message but directly points the finger at the perpetrators of such terrorist syndicates and exposes their fanatical agenda.
Anil Pandey’s brilliant story and Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan’s amazing direction are the highlights of this unusual saga. Delving deep into the dark realities of religious fanaticism and terrorism, the story of the film is so compelling that the audience will be glued to the screens until its end.
It should be noted that the film does not point fingers at any particular community or blame the entire community for the actions of a few horrific terrorists.
The film shows how the act of terrorism is deeply connected with the religious sermons that are misused by the terrifying terrorists to brainwash innocent people and turn them into killing machines.
The fact is that for a long time we have ignored the profound impact of such terrorist acts carried out in the name of religion. This has made the terrorists more brazen in their attacks and now they don’t think twice before killing people.
The film excels in all aspects – from story to screenplay, dialogues, direction, cinematography to editing. Watching the film, you get the feeling that you are not watching a drama unfolding on the screen, but watching the horrific acts of terrorism unfold live and shake you from the inside.
Playing the roles of flag bearers of terrorism in the film, Pawan Malhotra and Aamir Bashir have done a commendable job and brought a lot of conviction to their roles. No matter how much you praise these two brilliant actors, it will not be enough. The rest of the actors have also given themselves to their roles in the film. The brilliant and apt casting deserves praise.
Audiences are tuned in to watch movies for entertainment. It is therefore all the more necessary that these audiences also watch this film, as it brilliantly exposes the link between religion and terrorism and brings the debate on religious fanaticism to the fore.
