Olivia Wilde sat down for an interview with Variety that was published on Wednesday, in which the 38-year-old actor and director opened up about a number of high-profile people in his personal and professional life.
On her ex-partner Jason Sudeikis, who infamously served her with court papers while she was onstage at CinemaCon promoting her new film Don’t Worry, Baby: “In any other workplace, that would be seen as assault… But, you I know, unfortunately, it wasn’t something that was completely surprising to me. I mean there’s a reason I’m leaving this relationship.
On her personal relationship with current boyfriend Harry Styles, whom Wilde met on the set of the new film: “I’m not going to say anything about it because I’ve never seen a relationship benefit from being brought out into the public arena. We both do our best to protect our relationship; I think it’s from experience, but also just from deep love.
On controversial actor Shia LaBeouf, whom Wilde started in the film before casting Styles: “I say this as someone who is such a fan of his work. His process was not conducive to the ethos that I require in my productions… A lot of things came to light after what happened that really disturbed me about his behavior.”
On Florence Pugh, Don’t Worry Darling Center Star: ‘We knew she was a superstar…She’s clearly the most exciting young actress working today.’
