When there are absolutely zero f’s left to give, somehow Noel Gallagher always finds a way to give one less f. A vivid example is a new interview in Rotate for Gallagher’s latest album with his band High Flying Birds, Soviet skieswhich became a very on-brand takedown of Oasis’ recent rallying calls.
When the interviewer asked Gallagher, 55, if he had heard about the February interview in which The 1975 singer Matty Healy said Noel and his estranged brother, Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, owed it to their fans to get over their feud and get back together , well, Noelle has gone supersonic about Taylor Swift’s reported current boyfriend.
“Oh, that damn slack-jawed king. What did he say?” Noel asked when the subject came up. To wit, the interviewer quoted Healy as saying, “Can you imagine being in potentially, right now, still the coolest band in the world and not are you doing it because you are arguing with your brother?’

As for the AI Oasis album that came out earlier this year, yes, you can imagine Noel’s thoughts. “P-King awkward. I just think people obviously have too much time and money if they’re having fun with it to laugh,” he said of the one-off by British band Breezer, who wrote an album with a similar sound to Oasis during lockdown, which featured their playing and an AI voice that mimics Liam’s classic vocals. “I mean, who wants to hear Ringo Starr sing ‘She’s Electric’ and Freddie Mercury sing ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger?'” Noel snorted. “Life is too short for this thing.”
For the record, in predictably confrontational Gallagher style, Liam called IDIS “mad as fk” album, boasting that it “Sounds mega.”
