A host of players — 15 to be exact — are among the first wave to commit to the Greg Newsome Celebrity Softball Game on June 24 at Classic Park.
To no surprise, the Browns cornerback and featured celebrity for the game has recruited 15 of his friends from his team.
Headlining that group is Browns running back Nick Chubb, who in five seasons has rushed for 6,341 yards and 48 touchdowns.
Other Browns players committed to the game include AJ Green, Denzel Ward, John Johnson, Wyatt Teller, Ronnie Harrison, Martin Emerson, Juan Thornhill, Jayden Reed, Dallis Flowers, Demetric Felton, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Grant Delpit, Jedric Willis and D’Anthony Bell.
Other celebrities for the game will be announced at a later date.
The most recent celebrity game at Classic Park was 2021, when the event was named after former Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry.
The 2023 game will feature a home-run derby at 4 p.m. followed by the celebrity softball game. The gates at Classic Park open at 2 p.m.
