Bollywood actress Leana D’Cruz has opened up about having suicidal thoughts in the past. The Raid actress has been quite vocal about it all and recently shared that it was because of a very sensitive subject that she had these thoughts. She clarified that the thoughts were not due to her body image. She has repeatedly said that she suffers from body dysmorphic disorder, but it has nothing to do with suicidal thoughts. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the actress said, “I came across the article because a lot of people wrote to me saying ‘we didn’t know this about you’. I think it was well-intentioned, but it annoyed me because a lot of things were taken out of context. Yes, I had body issues, from the time I was maybe 12, I was very shy. this is one aspect. She also added: “The other aspect of being suicidal is a very, very sensitive subject and there was a point where I hit a really low point in my life and I got to a situation where I was thinking about things, but it wasn’t related to body issues . They’re two separate issues, so I didn’t like the fact that they lumped them together like “oh, you know, because she had body issues.” I said “no” not to say that if someone else is going through something similar you should belittle them. She is not the only one who has spoken about suicidal thoughts.
